LCR Wealth adds experienced client services manager Ilka Komatsu to the team

We are pleased to announce that Ilka Komatsu has passed the Series 65 exam and qualified as an Registered Independent Advisor. With her new qualifications, Ilka will be expanding her client service expertise into LCR Wealth Management.

The Series 65 license, known as the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, qualifies individuals to provide investing and general financial advice to clients. Passing the Series 65 demonstrates a deep understanding of financial products, wealth management strategies, and the regulations applied to both RIAs and stockbrokers. The exam is administered by FINRA.

“LCR Wealth is dedicated to providing its clients with world-class advice and client service. Adding Ilka to our team enhances our abilities and our commitment to clients as she brings 20 years of exceptional client service experience,” said Thomas Garvey, President of LCR Wealth.

“Ilka is one of the most experienced client service professionals I know. Her extensive work with both clients in the United States and over 30 countries is a perfect fit for LCR Wealth and its expanding global clientele,” said Sherman Baldwin, CEO of LCR Capital Partners.

Ilka currently manages LCR Capital’s client services team working with over 800 clients who have decided to take advantage of global opportunities and move to the US or Portugal. In her role, she routinely has to help clients work through advice from immigration attorneys, tax professionals, and educational consultants to make decisions for themselves and their children.
As a member of the LCR Wealth team, Ilka is now legally required to work to a fiduciary standard when she provides advice about wealth management. This means she must put the client’s interest before the interests of the firm, its parent LCR Capital, or its partners.

“Ilka has always taken client needs very seriously. We love that we have an RIA as part of the business because we look to achieve that high fiduciary standard across the whole business. We work hard to be a trusted advisor to our clients. That means considering clients’ interests first, being good communicators, and doing the right thing,” said Suresh Rajan, Founder and Executive Chairman of LCR Capital Partners.

Ilka has been registered with the SEC in December and will work across LCR Capital and LCR Wealth as Senior Director of Client Services for both companies going forward.
